Malfoid is Draco Malfoy as a girl: the same platinum-blonde hair, the same Slytherin green, the same smirk that collapses into a pout the moment Harry gets the last word. Fan artists made her a viral trend on X in September 2026, and by October she was starring in AI anime clips with millions of views.

What Malfoid looks like

The design barely changes Draco at all, which is the joke and the appeal. She keeps his platinum-blonde hair and the black and emerald Slytherin robes (usually with green eyes to match the house, where book Draco's are grey), and above all his attitude: proud, sharp-tongued and secretly bothered by everyone around her. Anime fans call that type a tsundere, a character who acts cold or rude to hide that she cares. Draco was already halfway there in the books, so the swap fits.

What the name means

Malfoid blends Malfoy with foid, a derogatory incel term for women that comes from “femoid”. Most of the people posting the art now use Malfoid simply as her name, but if you have wondered why it sounds like an insult, that is why.

Where Malfoid came from: a timeline

• November 9, 2011: Tumblr user maariaaargh posts female Draco fan art. The idea is old.
• March 10, 2024:X user @grizz056 posts two pieces captioned “If Malfoy was a girl”, which go on to collect over 60,000 likes.
• January 10, 2026: X user @swag_chaser posts the earliest known use of the name Malfoid.
• September 22, 2026: @redteneri posts Malfoid art mocking Harry, with over 89,000 likes in a week.
• September 27 to 29, 2026: the trend explodes. Rivalry art by @spaz141 passes 44,000 likes in three days, and three Malfoid pieces by @masoq095 pass 78,000 likes in a single day.
• October 2026: the AI anime clips arrive (below).

The Malfoid AI anime clips

Once the art was everywhere, creators started using AI video tools to put Malfoid into “anime”: short clips that look like scenes from a slice-of-life school series set at Hogwarts. They are usually vertical and under a minute, staged like the moments anime fans know by heart: a confession behind the school, a school festival, a rival who cannot admit she has a crush.

• On October 8, 2026, Sankaku Complex reported one AI animation of Malfoid passing 300,000 views in about a day.
• On October 11, 2026, it reported a new AI anime parody by @KeyGoas79093, with a female Ron among the cast, that passed 4 million views in about a day, with reuploads reaching similar numbers.

Those numbers are why this is a format, not a one-off. A single fan with AI tools can now make something that looks like an anime opening in an afternoon, and a recognizable character in a familiar anime scene is exactly what spreads. For the wider picture, see AI anime: what it is and where to watch it.

Why it took off

The rival everyone already liked

Draco has always been the rival fans root for anyway. Turning him into a tsundere girl takes a dynamic people already wrote fan fiction about and drops it into the most familiar anime template there is.

Hogwarts already is an anime school

Houses, rivals, school festivals, a mysterious transfer student: Hogwarts maps onto the magic school anime genre almost one to one. That is also why so many anime fans love Harry Potter in the first place. If that is you, here are the best magic school anime like Harry Potter.

AI made the clips cheap

Fan art takes hours; a convincing animated clip used to take a studio. AI video tools collapsed that, which is the same thing that turned Fruit Love Island into a 300-million-view phenomenon earlier in 2026.

Where to watch Malfoid clips

• X (Twitter):where the art and the AI anime were posted first. Search “Malfoid” and sort by latest.
• Reuploads: the popular clips are reposted widely, often without credit. If you like one, find the original creator and follow them; that is how you see the next one.

More AI anime and short series

Malfoid clips are short, vertical and best watched one after another, which is the same shape as a short drama: a story told in one-minute episodes, each ending on a hook. Sutorichat is a short drama app for anime series like that: every series plays in order and every episode is free to watch.
